The Need:

The primary goal is to build new composting sites.

To accomplish this we need 3 things:

  1. Land

  2. Money

  3. People to run the site(s).

Land: 3 acres or more. Could be part of a farm, a nursery, or a plot of land not too close to neighbors. It will need water and electric onsite. It would be best if it is close to main roads and in one of the down Island towns(not required though).

Money: The main component of a composting facility is the drum. This costs approximately $420,000. Additional site costs will be specific to each location.

Site Operators: This could be an individual person or group, but they need to be people interested to learn and/or have skill with composting. The Committee can provide access to many resources to help training and support.

If you have any of the resources above and want to be a part of solving this Island problem, please reach out to us by clicking the contact button below. We look forward to hearing from you.
